ABOUT ME

Reiki is a way of life for me, a way of being...

I am dedicated to a daily Reiki practice which cultivates an ever deepening discovery of True Self. My purpose in life is to live in alignment with my highest Self. It is to offer Reiki and myself as an unconditional loving presence to others in support of their unique journeys of self-discovery and healing.  I am currently offering Reiki sessions in my backyard studio in East Warren, VT and at Mountain Rose Integrated Wellness in Waitsfield, VT. I also offer Distance Reiki sessions and Animal Reiki sessions.

I had my first experience with Reiki in 2001.  After being diagnosed with an illness and told that I needed surgery.  I decided to first explore alternative forms of healing. My homeopath, who was also a Reiki practitioner encouraged me to formulate a healing plan.  My plan included consulting a homeopath who specialized in my area of concern, a deeper commitment to my yoga practice, alone time in nature and receiving Reiki on a weekly basis.  As a result I experienced such significant healing – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually – that I was moved to study this beautiful healing modality called Reiki.

In 2003 I completed my certification as a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher.  I practiced hands on healing with myself, family, pets and nature, and eventually felt moved to share with clients and then to teach.  

In 2014 I continued my Reiki studies through the International House of Reiki which taught a traditional Japanese style of Reiki.  This experience breathed new life into my practice!  I felt a deeper understanding of and connection to the symbols, chanting, the precepts and other Reiki meditation practices.  At this time I also completed my Master/Teacher certification for Animal Reiki.

I have been a bit obsessed with creating magic marker mandalas and vessels, as well as watercolor mandalas.  For me it is a soothing and meditative process of laying down a few circles and lines and then connecting to my deepest self for guidance.  Letting go of my thinking mind and staying present in each moment as I draw.  Always moving from the outside towards the center, gently setting the intention to do the same in life.  Then, as I begin to fill in the color, again I start from the outside and move inward.  I have no vision of what the image will end up looking like when it is complete.  I simply trust and enjoy the process!
