A Reiki session is typically 1 - 2 hours long. A Reiki session with me may include a "check in" upon arrival, dialogue around understanding Reiki, pulling a card from an inspirational deck, a minimum of forty-five minutes on the table, and conversation in response to session. Or - it may simply include hopping right up on the table and enjoying the whole process in silence. I will always honor how you are feeling in the moment. I am grateful and honored to hold a sacred and safe space for my clients to have a comfortable healing experience during our time together.
For first sessions I suggest 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
My fee is $65 for one hour, $100 for 1 1/2 hrs, $120 for 2 hrs.
If there is need, I am very comfortable working on a sliding scale with clients who would like to receive Reiki on a continual basis.
It is my intention to make Reiki available to all who seek it.
It is suggested that comfortable clothing is worn for a Reiki session. For instance, yoga or workout clothing. When a client arrives for a session we begin by sitting for 5 - 10 minutes to "check in" with how they are feeling and to see if there are any questions to ask or thoughts to share. Next the client is invited to lay on a massage table. Sitting in a chair is an option if preferred. Pillows and blankets are used to promote comfort and relaxation. I usually begin by guiding the client to notice and follow the rhythm of their breath which helps to quiet the body and mind. Once the body is relaxed there is less distraction for the thinking mind. Space is created to form an intention and simply be present. The client often brings a specific intention to the session. In addition, the intention to simply be open to receive what is needed for healing, balance and clarity is always set. The client is guided to let go of any expectations or need to know what this will "look like" and simply trust and become a witness to the process.
During a Reiki session the Reiki practitioner holds space for the remembrance that we are all connected and Reiki flows where it is needed most. Energy follows intention so the flow will also go where the focus is. The practitioner places her/his hands lightly on or above different areas of the client. A specific set of hand positions may be used or the practitioner may be intuitively guided. The practitioner often feels sensation in her/his hands and may be drawn to a particular area of the body where the flow is strongest in the moment. The practitioner or the client may be moved to speak or there may be silence. Experiences with Reiki are unique to each person and to each session. A Reiki session may bring up deep emotional and spiritual issues, or it may simply bring the client to a feeling of relaxation and serenity. Many people describe themselves as feeling lighter while smiling peacefully. Reiki also helps to cleanse the body of toxins. Drinking water after a session aids this process.
When time on the table is complete, the client is asked to awaken gently. Slowly opening eyes, stretching, breathing, and allowing their awareness to come back into the room before getting off the table. I like to leave a few minutes at the end of the session for questions and/or thoughts. Self-care guidance and water is offered.
