Anusara inspired Yoga: “to flow with grace”, is a life affirming, heart opening and anatomically sound practice. Through heart-centered themes and instruction in anatomical alignment, classes inspire students to enjoy the fullest potential of their hearts, bodies and minds.
Level 1: moderate & fluid, some experience beneficial.
Level 2: energetic & invigorating class, strong yoga foundation beneficial.
Beginner Yoga Series: Stretch, strengthen, relax, renew! Learn the basics of hatha yoga through investigation of gentle postures and breath work within the framework of weekly themes. No prior experience necessary.
Gentle Yoga: Students are guided on a path of self-awareness through breath, posture and deep relaxation
Open Practice: Enjoy the supportive energy at Awaken as you devote time to deepen your own personal practice. Props and music provided. Lucy will arrive at 10:20 am to open the studio, focus on her practice and close at 11:30 am. Open to all.
Prenatal Yoga: Expectant Goddesses will be led to connect an easeful breath with gentle postures. Guidance to feel grounded & supported by the Earth while gaining a feeling of lightness and trust in the process of pregnancy and birth.
QI GONG: A moving meditation that combines breath, visualization and sound to calm the mind, relax the body, enhance blood circulation and vitalize energy flow throughout the body. Qi Gong is based on Traditional Chinese Meridian and Five Element Theory.
Restorative Yoga & Reiki Workshops: In this workshop Nancy Spencer will assist you into comfortable yoga postures using blankets and bolsters to support every part of your body. She will guide you to bring a gentle attention to your breath as you drift into stillness. Mary Ellen Alberti will offer Reiki healing. Thoughts will quiet and tension will soften as Life Force Energy is directed into the body deepening relaxation and aiding in the release of any holding of negative energy.
Swasthya Yoga: Swasthya (self-sufficient) and Svatantrya (free will) Yoga are the primary philosophies of this class. Exploration of openness and flexibility towards life. Focus on developing the strength needed to become successful and grow as a human being. Class includes breath work and postures (body purification and energy flow), healing sound, hand mudras, gratitude and guided relaxation. Open to all levels.
Yoga for The Playful Spirit:An uplifting & inspiring class! Students are led through flowing postures and encouraged to find their playful inner child and unique expression of each asana. All levels and needs are honored.
Yoga for Strength and Serenity:Class begins with meditation & breathwork. Students are then guided to connect breath with movement as they are led through postures focusing on strength, alignment and serenity. Class ends with restorative pose and relaxation. Open to all levels.
